Procedure for vehicles without license plates

There is a focus on removing vehicles, wrecks, trailers and similar items in the following situations:

  • Vehicles without license plates on city land
  • Vehicles posing pollution risks (e.g., oil or other contaminants)
  • Vehicles posing safety hazards (e.g., broken windows or weak foundations)

Vehicles are generally not removed if:

  • Located on private property, including business property.
  • Located in common areas of multi-unit housing.

This applies as long as they don't pose pollution or safety risks.

Note that the Act on Multi-Owner Buildings No. 26/1994 (Chapter III) allows homeowners' associations to set rules for common areas, including parking lots. The act also outlines measures for dealing with rule violations.

Poor maintenance of properties

  • The Environment Inspectorate handles complaints about litter and poor maintenance on private property.
  • Property owners are responsible for keeping their land clean and tidy to avoid disturbing others.
  • Report litter and poor maintenance on city land to the appropriate district depot.
